Principales fonctions:

• Aider les participants à améliorer leur niveau d’anglais à l’aide de différentes activités de groupe ou personnalisées (conversations, exercices, simulation d’entrevue).
• Traduire et corriger le curriculum vitae et la lettre de motivation du participant, si nécessaire.

Qualités et compétences recherchées:

• Détenir un minimum d’un (1) an et/ou de 250 heures d’expérience en enseignement de l’anglais aux adultes
• Être bilingue (anglais/français)
• Fournir environ deux à trois heures par semaine
• Faire preuve de dynamisme, de patience et de motivation à transmettre un savoir
• Créer un environnement positif dans lequel chaque étudiant peut développer sa confiance et atteindre ses objectifs
• Avoir une grande facilité à communiquer et à écouter
• Avoir le sens de l’organisation
• N’avoir aucun casier judiciaire en lien avec l’emploi

AIM CROIT is looking for volunteers! We are a non-profit organisation which provides free employment assistance to individuals with physical, sensory, and neurological handicaps living on the island of Montréal.

WANTED VOLUNTEER: English teacher

Number of positions available: 1

Start date: Immediately

Location: 433, Chabanel O, bureau 304, mezzanine 2, Montréal, QC.  H2N 2J4, working from home until otherwise specified

Main tasks:

• Assist our clientele improve their English language skills through various individual and group activities. This can include but is not limited to: conversing with the client, doing grammatical exercises and preforming interview simulations.
• If necessary, assisting clients with the translation and revision of their CV’s from French to English.

What we are looking for:

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year or 250 hours of experience teaching English to adults.
• Be fluent in English and French.
• Willing to volunteer for a minimum of three hours per week.
• A dynamic, patient, and highly motivated individual who is enthusiastic about teaching.
• Someone who is capable of creating a positive environment where each student can improve their self-confidence and achieve all of their goals.
• Excellent communication and listening skills are crucial.
• Good organisational skills are an asset.
• Candidates with a criminal record will not be considered for this position.
